The Many Uses of Polyethylene Foam

The Many Uses of Polyethylene Foam

There are many usages and applications for Polyethylene Foam.  Polyethylene foam is a 2lb density closed cell foam that looks and feels like a kid’s pool noodle. The colors that it comes in are black, white, blue, and pink. Foam N’ More, Inc also offers this foam in a 4lb and 6lb density and in a layered form as well as special order solid thickness.

Polyethylene foam is ideal for uses in a variety of different applications.  The most commonly used density is the 2lb which makes it ideal for holiday packaging shipping needs for heavier items or products that have sharp corners or edges. Our closed-cell rigid Polyethylene foam is also great for use in foam packaging as its’ texture and density is what offers more protection on sensitive items when shipping and handling larger, more fragile items such as computers, glass, etc.  This foam also absorbs “shock” while in transit helping to keep your items secured and protected while being handled.

Our full sheet of Polyethylene foam is 48” x 108" and ranges in thickness from ¼” up to 4” thick. This closed-cell foam can be cut down into custom-sized strips or shapes, cut, and be glued together to achieve thicknesses greater than 4 inches.  Foam N’ More Inc can custom make the shape(s) you need to protect your delicate equipment like TVs, telescopes, and heavy machinery and electronics.

Our 4lb Polyethylene is also commonly found in archery targets, which make for great Christmas gifts for your family member that are into archery or hunting activities.

This closed-cell foam material is bacteria, water, mold, and mildew resistant. It will absorb shock and vibrations during heavy impact, offering supreme protection. Polyethylene also floats on the water giving buoyancy and making it great for floating decorative objects, or even insulation.  Any polyethylene foam densities can be precisely cut into any shape desired using our waterjet machine.
