Tough Luxury-Firm Foam

Tough Luxury Foam is considered to be a very firm open-cell high-density foam. This foam is commonly used for extra support or to add additional firmness to an existing cushion or mattress. This particular foam is made to support adult individuals that exceed a weight of 300 lbs or more. This foam can be found within dining seats, thin seat pads, underneath mattresses, and or on the underside of a foam mattress topper for additional support. With a 2.8 lb density, this foam offers support coupled with comfort for heavier individuals or people who need better support for their bad back/hips. This foam is high density and rubber-based so it will not break down like standard foam over time, it will hold its support and shape for years to come.

The most common thickness to use is 3" thickness or thinner because it offers a very firm feel which offers a high degree of support will retain its shape and density for many years.

When comparing different types of foam with other companies, it is most important to look at the density and ILD of the foam.

Foam density is a specific measurement of how much weight in pounds polyurethane foam can handle per cubic foot. This density rating tells you the strength of the foam. The higher the number, the longer the foam will last. It should not be used exclusively as a sign of durability or comfort, because the firmness and lifespan of foam products just like mattresses and cushions depend on many factors, including density. The density may vary slightly between each foam shipment.

The ILD or IFD measurement shows how hard or soft the foam is. The higher the number, the more firm the foam. AIt also represents how many pounds the foam will hold before it collapses. If you take a 12″ x 12″ x 12″ foam cube after the certain ILD is reached that foam will collapse.

We vacuum pack the foam to reduce shipping costs. You will have to give the foam 1-2 days to return to its original shape. It will look a little misshaped and not measure to correct size until after it expands.
