Plush/Soft Foam

Our Standard Plush/Soft foam also known as Super Soft foam is not high density or rubber-based, so it is intended for temporary or lightweight usage only. This foam is a soft density foam type and is primarily found in sofa back cushions, baby mattresses, temporary mattress toppers, light upholstery projects, fold-out beds, and arts and crafts. This foam is not recommended for long-term use as it will break down and will need to be replaced much quicker than high-density foam.

Common Uses back cushions, baby mattresses.

The best way to cut the open-cell foam is with a sharp knife or electric carving knife. Just repeat in one direction to get a clean cut. Please note that if you order these full-size sheets they may be bigger than the actual size listed.

When comparing different types of foam with other companies, it is most important to look at the density and ILD of the foam.

Foam density is a specific measurement of how much weight in pounds polyurethane foam can handle per cubic foot. This density rating tells you the strength of the foam. The higher the number, the longer the foam will last. It should not be used exclusively as a sign of durability or comfort, because the firmness and lifespan of foam products just like mattresses and cushions depend on many factors, including density. The density may vary slightly between each foam shipment.

The ILD or IFD measurement shows how hard or soft the foam is. The higher the number, the more firm the foam. AIt also represents how many pounds the foam will hold before it collapses. If you take a 12″ x 12″ x 12″ foam cube after the certain ILD is reached that foam will collapse.

We vacuum pack the foam to reduce shipping costs. You will have to give the foam 1-2 days to return to its original shape. It will look a little misshaped and not measure to correct size until after it expands.
