With the 4" thick memory foam it is require by law to add the FR Sock which is a fire retardant material. That price is added to the cost.

Toppers that are less than 2 inches thick will give beds a slighter degree of softness, and toppers thicker than 3" may change the feel of a mattress entirely.

The most common thickness to get is the 2" Thick which is also most recommended for people who sleep on their stomachs. The 3" and 4" thick is used for side and back sleeps.
